Minimum requirements:

  • We are looking for a candidate trained in using the infrared technology for preventive maintenance, quality assurance and condition monitoring of mechanical and electrical equipment.  Prior certification as an IR Level II with one (1) year experience or prior certification as an IR Level I technician with adequate field experience hours to certify to Level II status is preferred. Additional training will be provided if required.
  • Technically competent and knowledgeable in the application of the current inspection codes; proficiency in technical report writing and the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Self-motivated with good written and verbal communication skills and a positive team-oriented attitude is required.
  • Must be able to communicate with clients, supervisors and co-workers
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Field duties require outdoor work in a plant atmosphere
  • Actively promote safety procedures and awareness
  • Provide a professional appearance when interfacing with clients and other coworkers.

Responsibilities:

  • Candidate will be performing qualitative thermography and collecting data and follow client and vendor inspection procedures. Also, will be capturing clear thermograms and make basic inferences and diagnosis for the client.
  • Technician will be using infrared theory, heat transfer concepts, operation of thermal imaging equipment, and provide the client with quality thermal images that are clear, concise and easy to interpret.
  • Collect quality data, accurate temperature readings, and account for measurement effects such as distance and emissivity using infrared cameras.
  • Distinguish between hot spots and reflections, direct vs. indirect readings and qualitative vs. quantitative thermography.
  • Set up, calibrate, operate and maintain equipment as necessary
  • Work with minimal supervision, and identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
