Summary - Leading pay available for the right candidate. The applicant must have an extensive inspection background with turnaround planning experience.

Minimum requirements: Applicant must have a minimum of 5 to 10 years of API experience in the inspection field and a CWI certification is a plus. Technically competent and knowledgeable in the application of the current inspection codes; proficiency in technical report writing and the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.  Self-motivated with good written and verbal communication skills and a positive team-oriented attitude is required.


  • Review equipment history and risk based equipment strategies to develop inspection work scopes for equipment during turnaround activities.
  • Provide inspection support on new equipment associated with projects.
  • Assume the role of project inspector during turnarounds.
  • Attend pre-inspection meetings at vendor fabrication facilities.
  • Oversee the inspection activities at vendor’s facilities for critical equipment.
  • Develop inspection and test plans for equipment based on criticality.
  • Review data packages prior to sending out quotes to vendors to assure client specifications, correct materials, compliance and testing are met on fixed equipment, piping, valves, etc.
  • Review fabrication isometric drawings to be issued for construction.
  • Spec out valves to be replaced during turnarounds.
  • Assist in development of repair plans for fixed equipment.
  • Assist in development of quality assurance plans for turnarounds.
  • Review and approve contractor quality control plans.
  • Review welding procedures for onsite contractors and offsite fabricators.
  • Review completed test packages and perform field walk downs on test packages for acceptance.    
  • Has an overall responsibility for reviewing turnaround inspection plans and client inspection procedures.
  • Estimating manpower requirements for NDE support for turnaround activities.
  • Interfacing with client turnaround planning, mechanical and inspection departments to assure schedule and goals are met in a timely manner for turnaround.
  • Interface with client(s) on technical matters involving planning inspection activities for turnaround execution.
  • Provide a professional appearance when interfacing with clients and other coworkers.
